Youth-led Lp(a) awareness · Family conversations start here
Our story · Our mission

A young voice can start a family conversation.

Kid2Kin began with Kevin Song’s idea: make inherited heart-health risks easier for young people to understand and talk about with their families.

Our story

A student project with a family-sized goal.

Kid2Kin is a youth-focused Lp(a) awareness initiative founded by Kevin Song, a sophomore at The Roxbury Latin School.

When he’s not doing schoolwork, Kevin enjoys playing tennis, playing the violin, and spending time with his dog. He started this project to help young people learn about Lp(a) and pass useful information along to the people they love.

Kevin Song

Sophomore at The Roxbury Latin School · Tennis player · Violinist

Kevin believes a young person’s question can open a helpful conversation across a whole family.

Our mission

Four goals. One ripple at a time.

We want young people and families to feel informed, included, and ready to ask good questions together.

01

Educate

Explain Lp(a) in clear, age-friendly language.

02

Empower

Help young people start conversations with trusted adults.

03

Screen

Make families aware of testing options and clinician guidance.

04

Prevent

Encourage early conversations about heart-health risk.

What we believe

Good information should feel welcoming.

♡

Young people belong

Curiosity and questions can help bring families into the conversation.

◎

Families learn together

Inherited risk can affect relatives. Sharing information helps each person decide what to ask their own care team.

↗

Care belongs with clinicians

Our role is education and awareness. Qualified healthcare professionals guide testing, result interpretation, and treatment.
